Arlington, Virginia -The deadline for this year's Polyurethane Innovation Awards organised by the Center for the Polyurethanes Industry (CPI) is rapidly approaching. Entries for the award must be in by 16 July. The winners of this prestigious award, will be judged and the presentations made, at the Polyurethanes 2008 Technical Conference at the Marriott Rivercenter in San Antonio, Texas, 29 Sept-1 Oct.
Three awards will be presented for the most innovative use of polyurethane in the following categories:
• Polyurethane Chemicals
• Processing Equipment
• Finished Product
The Polyurethane Innovation Award is designed to recognise the role that innovation plays in the polyurethane industry "by rewarding the efforts and foresight of companies and/or individuals whose visions and perseverance bring new products and technologies to the marketplace," said the CPI.
Meanwhile the programme for the CPI conference in San Antonio is rapidly filling up. It will include more than 100 technical papers and poster presentations, as well as educational seminars and the Polyurethane Professional Development Program.
As well as specialist sessions on areas such as the footwear sector, insulation options and flame retardancy, the meeting will include a session called 'Green goes mainstream,' in which representatives from the automotive sector, government bodies and industry associations will assess the complex challenges in this arena and look at opportunities for the polyurethane sector to promote its environmental credentials.
