In a statement, Filip Geeraert, president and ceo of Deceuninck North America, said "When we launched Innergy, we were confident that the product would become the new industry standard for thermal performance. This award serves as further validation of our efforts."
Development of Innergy's rigid thermal reinforcement drew on Bayer Material Science's expertise in custom polyurethane resin system development and Deceuninck's experience in design and manufacturing.
Innergy offers as a better-performing PU foam alternative to aluminium reinforcements for PVC windows and door profiles. Deceuninck claims it offers the strength and durability of aluminium, but with "unprecedented levels of thermal performance."
Deceuninck describes it as "virtually impermeable to cold or heat and extremely resistant to condensation, which prevents staining that can occur with metal reinforcements." It is structural and flexible at the same time, and under impact, retains its form and shape compared to metal reinforcements. Innergy easily slides into frames during fabrication without the need for retooling.
