Düsseldorf, Germany-Deguss AG's Coatings & Colorants Business Unit will be increasing prices for its Dynacoll adhesives raw materials, used in polyurethane hot melts adhesives and sealants, by 7 percent on 15 Jan 2005. Degussa said that structural changes in the raw materials markets have led to sharp increases in raw materials costs, "while demand remains high-a trend that persists in early 2005." The Düsseldorf-headquartered chemicals group added that "at least part of these costs must therefore be passed on to our customers … to ensure the continued viability of this product group." Efficiency improvements are ongoing, Degussa commented, adding these alone cannot compensate for increased costs.The company's Dynacoll adhesive polyesters are used as building blocks in the manufacture of high-quality moisture-curable polyurethane hot melts, adhesives and sealants, Degussa's statement said.
