Parsippany, New Jersey-The Coatings & Colorants business of Parsippany-based Degussa Corp. is to raise the price for Vestagon PUR grades (polyurethane powder coating crosslinkers), by up to $0.30/pound, depending on type, as contracts allow.
These increases are schedules for the Nafta region from 1 Sept. 2006.
"Even with internal cost-cutting measures, we have had difficulty achieving a reasonable return for these specialty products," said Peter Toohey, marketing manager for the line, in a Degussa statement. "With this price increase we can continue our efforts for quality, reliability and new product developments, which open new markets to our customers."
Vestagon PUR materials are internally and externally blocked products, used to crosslink various resin systems in powder coatings. Degussa says the crosslinking reaction gives "highly resistant thermoset powder coatings capable of meeting the most varied requirements."
