Birmingham, UK -- Delcam Crispin has launched new design and manufacturing software for the footwear industry, with its most significant new product being TechPac - a 2D system to generate technical packages for footwear designers to supply to their manufacturing partners.
The company said that TechPac allows designers to specify the manufacturing processes and the sequences of operations to be followed at all stages of production of a shoe.
It will help ensure that the design is produced exactly as specified and to the required delivery, the software supplier said.
An important software update from Delcam Crispin is the latest release of the 3D upper design module, ShoeDesign, a package which provides a comprehensive range of options to develop new designs, either based on an existing last or when creating a completely novel product.
Delcam Crispin has focussed here on improving ease of use, making the software "simpler to learn and faster to use." The interface has been revised, in particular to reduce the number of icons on the screen at any one time, the company said.
Another revision is of Delcam Crispin's LastMaker software, which is now easier to use, both to create standard lasts and develop bespoke designs, the company added.
