Birmingham, UK - Delcam Crispin, a UK-based supplier of CADCAM (computer-aided design and computer-aided manufacturing) solutions, will be demonstrating its new ShoeDesign software for the footwear industry at a number of free seminars across Asia over the coming weeks, a company statement said.
Delcam's new 3D upper design module, ShoeDesign, provides a range of options to work on existing projects or develop new designs and includes a range of materials, textures and colours. The software also includes features like stitching, padding, eyelets and laces that can be included in a design.
The most significant of the new products to be shown will be TechPac - a 2D system designed to generate technical packages for footwear designers to supply to manufacturing partners, Delcam said. TechPac allows designers to specify the manufacturing processes to be used and the sequences of operations to be followed at all stages of production of A shoe. The software will also have pre-defined templates to specify the path for the flow of manufacturing data and will incorporate basic 2D engineering capabilities so manufacturing companies can mark up the documents with comments or queries on the suggested processes.
Delcam will also be demonstrating a new version of its LastMaker software for more bespoke designs as well as developments in its 2D Engineer package.
The seminars start on 26 Aug in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, and then move to Bangkok, Thailand, on 1 Sept, and Houjie, China, on 4 Sept, before finishing in Beijing on 10 Sept 2009.
