Secaucus, New Jersey – Taiwanese thermoplastic polyurethane extruder DingZing Advanced Materials has entered the US market.
The company has opened an 80,000 sqft (7400 m2)warehouse near its offices in Secaucus.
'They're the biggest urethane extruder in the world,' said Jim Zauderer of Zauderer Associates, which has been the company's US distributor since 2017. 'They're very strong in Asia and very strong in Europe.'
The 37-year-old Kaohsiung-based company has 60 extrusion lines in Taiwan, where it makes films, tubing, cord and profiles. Additionally, the company also injection moulds polyurethane seals at the site.
It employs more than 700 people in a 1 million sqft (93,000m2) facility, and is expanding capacity in Taiwan, Zauderer said.
It is listed on the Taipei Exchange. For second quarter 2018, the company reported sales of TWD1.16 bn ($38 m) and pre-tax profit of TW$33.4 million ($1 m).
DingZing's TPU products include Provecta films that are an alternative to rubber and traditional plastic; Advanta films, for breathable, waterproof clothing; Orkesta composites, which can replace microfiber or genuine leather in footwear and clothing; Perfola air hoses and hydration tubes; Aldura belts; and DingZing DZ seals.
In addition, the automotive industry, breathable fabrics for sportswear and medical applications are all homes for the TPU products, Zauderer said in a phone interview.
Besides Secaucus, DingZing has branch offices in China, Vietnam, the Netherlands and Taichung, Taiwan.
