Dingley, Australia -- Dotmar Engineering Plastics has installed state-of-the-art polyurethane casting technology as part of an upgrade programme at its manufacturing plants, a recent company statement said.
Dotmar has acquired two machines -- one two-component machine and one three-component machine with a 200+ litre tank capacity -- both due to be installed in the second quarter of 2010.
The Australia-based polymer-part maker has been focused on developing its PU sheet, rod, tube and custom cast components since it was acquired by Metal Manufactures Ltd in 2007, the statement added.
"These are computerised, multi-colour, multi-duro, high volume polyurethane dispensing machines," said Leon van den Heever, Dotmar's newly appointed polyurethane product manager, "with expandable felxibility for future growth, and the capacity to cope with numerous raw material technologies" -- including tank expansion and the option to manufacture both TDI (toluene diisocyanate) and MDI (methylene diphenyl diisocyanate) materials, he added.
