SOCHI Sochi, Russia--The Dow Chemical Co. has been named as the official carbon partner of the 2014 Winter Olympic Games in Russia by the Sochi organising committee.
Dow is already the official chemistry company of the games, which are scheduled for 7-23 Feb 2014. The organising committee wants to make the direct carbon footprint associated with the delivery of the Games to be as small as possible, Dow said in a 13 March news release.
Dow will partner with Offsetters Climate Solutions, the Official Supplier of Carbon Offsets of the Vancouver Organizing Committee in 2010, to develop the measurement tools to account for the carbon benefits of the solutions implemented in Russia.
