From Rubber&Plastics NewsAuburn Hills, Michigan-Dow Chemical Co.'s Dow Automotive unit will consolidate its North American production of glass bonding adhesives, primers and sealers to a soon-to-be built facility in Midland, MichiganDow said it will invest more than $100 million to build the facility in Midland. The two-phase project will start this year with site preparation, construction and new equipment to make adhesives, primers and sealers. The side is expected to be operational by early 2007 and employ 79 workers, according to Dow.The consolidation will result in the closure of Dow Automotive facilities in London, Ontario, and Kankakee, Illinois, along with the relocation of urethane and primer production from the Hillsdale, Michigan, factory.The second phase will involve construction of a plant to produce automotive filers. This facility will employ an additional 30 people."
