Horgen, Switzerland Dow Polyurethanes, part of Dow Chemical Co. and affiliates including Dow Europe GmbH, will increase prices in the Middle East, Africa and the Indian Subcontinent for its polyurethanes raw materials.
The group announced 5 May that it would raise prices immediately, or as contracts allow, for toluene diisocyanate (TDI) by $200/tonne and prices for polyols by $100/tonne.
"The continuing rise of feedstock and energy costs has a big impact on our margins, which have become unsustainable," said Sudhir Shenoy, product manager for Europe, Middle East, Africa and India, in the company statement.
