Horgen, Switzerland - Dow Polyurethanes is increasing its prices for both polyols and MDI (methylene diphenyl diisocyanate) by a minimum of Euro 100/tonne in Europe and $150/tonne in the Middle East, Africa and India, the company said 17 June. Both increases are effective 1 July, 2009, or as contracts allow.
Sudir Shenoy, Dow product manager for Europe, Middle East, Africa and India, said the price increases are due escalating feedstock and energy costs. "We must maintain our prices in order to maintain margins and reinvest in the future growth of our business," he added. (RD)
