Midland, Michigan - A new speciality uretonimine-modified MDI (methylene diphenyl diisocyanate)-based solution for adhesives, sealants and elastomer and coatings applications has been commercially launched by Dow Chemical Co.
Echelon MU 290 offers benefits including "improved clarity and greater handling and storage flexibility," Dow said 4 Nov.
"By expanding our Echelon family with this new product, Dow is demonstrating its commitment to bringing new and differentiated materials for use in adhesives, sealants, coatings and elastomers," said Janet English, Dow Polyurethanes' global marketing manager for adhesives, sealants and elastomers.
Echelon MU 290 can be used for the production of quasi and full prepolymers, and also for two-component urethane coatings, adhesives, sealants and solid microcellular elastomers, Dow added.
Dow has also announced the appointment of Ron Edmonds as vice president and controller for the company, replacing William Weiderman who has been appointed interim cfo. Edmonds will now report to Weiderman, the statement said. (RD)
