This brings the total increase to Dow's propylene glycols selling prices to:PG USP/EP and PGI-$0.17 per pound.DPG and DPG LO+-$0.22 per pound.TPG and TPG AG-$0.17 per pound.Separately, Dow said it will increase selling prices for ethylene oxide by a further $0.05 per pound in North America, or as contracts allow. With the increase already announced this brings the total price rise for EO to $0.10 per pound."Rising raw material, energy, and logistical costs that have resulted from the impact of Hurricane Katrina, as well as continued tight supply and strong demand for EO have made this additional increase necessary" said John Smith, Dow's commercial manager, for EO and Higher Glycols."
