Horgen, Switzerland - Dow Polyurethanes will focus on solutions for the Indian industry, covering raw materials, products, systems and beyond, at the second Polyurethane Exhibition and Conference, 12-14 March 2008, in New Delhi, India.
As an example of Dow's active role in the Indian PU sector, the group is investing to build a "state-of the art polyurethane systems house facility in Mumbai", said Chandrakant Nayak, systems house director Mumbai, in a 4 March Dow announcement. This is a move which "further underlines our commitment to the Indian market," Nakak commented. As well as the new systems facility and service centre in Mumbai, Dow's MDI terminal and the group's R&D centre in Pune, India, are evidence of Dow's commitment to India and the region, the company claims.
Dow Polyurethanes will display solutions in viscoelastic and high-resilience foam for the furniture and bedding industry, including Voralux polyols, specially designed for the viscoelastic foams used as the comfort layer in high-end mattresses, luxury furniture and specialty applications.
"Dow deserves its reputation as a global innovator," said Marcel Loyson, flexible slab marketing manager Europe and India, Middle East and Africa. "We are growing with our customers by innovating new products and technologies," Loyson added, in Dow's statement.
At PU Tech 2008, Dow Hyperlast will also present its industrial engineering elastomers: "As the interpreter between the chemical and engineering industries, Dow Hyperlast employs a unique combination of chemists, polymer technologists and engineers who are able to create innovative polyurethane elastomers for practical industrial applications," commented Paul Fitzgerald, global brand manager - elastomers, in the Dow announcement.
Dow's investments in the region include polyol plants, MDI plants, PU Systems facilities, prototyping laboratories and service centres at sites in India, China, Thailand, Malaysia, Japan and Korea.
Dow said an estimated 3500 visitors from all parts of India, Asia and the Middle East are expected to attend the 2nd Polyurethane Exhibition and Conference in Delhi.
