From Rubber & Plastics NewsMidland, Michigan-Dow Polyurethanes in raising prices in the US and Canada for its Papi and Isonate pure and polymeric MDI (methyl diphenyl diisocyanate) products by 7 cents a pound; Voranate toluene diisocyanate by 10 cents per pound; and Voranol, Specflex and Voralux polyether and copolymer polyols by 6 cents a pound effective 1 April.High raw material costs and volatile energy prices were the prime reasons for the increases, according to Richard Beitel, commercial director for Dow Polyurethanes.The increases apply to all market segments-including flexibles, coatings, adhesives, sealants, elastomers and rigid, he said.
