Horgen, Switzerland- Dow Chemical Co.'s polyurethanes business is to increase prices in Europe for its PU raw materials. Prices for polyols, toluene diisocyanate (TDI) and methylene diphenyl diisocyanates (MDI) will increase by Euros 150 /tonnes, from 1 June, or as contract terms allow.
Similar price increases are also being implemented in the Middle East, Africa and the Indian Subcontinent, said Dow.
We continue to be faced with high and volatile energy and raw material costs, including crude oil and natural gas, which are significantly impacting our cost of production," sais Herman Motmans, product manager Europe, MEAI, in a Dow statement.
Dow said customers interested in learning more about the price increase should contact their Dow sales representative.Dow pointed out that it is the world's largest producer of polyether polyols, a leading producer of quality aromatic isocyanates, such as TDI and MDI, and a major supplier of propylene oxide, an essential component of polyether polyols.
