Midland, Michigan - Dow Building Solutions has received the NAHB Research Center Green Approved mark, making Dow the first company to have both its energy saving insulation and air-sealing products eligible to earn points under the National Green Building Standard, the company said 16 June.
NAHB "Green Approved" products from Dow include its Styrofoam brand spray polyurethane insulation, Dow polyisocyanurate insulation, Great Stuff Pro insulating foam sealants, Enerfoam professional foam sealants, Froth-Pak foam sealant kit, Thermax insulation, Styrofoam SIS brand structural insulated sheathing and Styrofoam brand extruded polystyrene (XPS) foam insulation.
NAHB approved products from Dow will now be pre-loaded onto the NAHB's online Green Scoring Tool so builders can calculate points that could contribute to a bronze, silver, gold or emerald green building certification. (RD)
"Having Dow's insulation and air sealing products NAHB-approved and pre-loaded takes the guesswork out of selecting which products will increase a home's Green Score," said John Hammer, residential market manager for Dow Building Solutions, US.
