Bangkok – Dow’s (PG) Map Tha Phut propylene glycol manufacturing facility, in Rayong province in south-east Thailand, has been awarded ISCC Plus certification. This will allow the company to offer circular and bio-circular PG products in Thailand and elsewhere in the Asia Pacific region.
Its propylene glycol CIR product includes Renuva recycled materials, while propylene glycol REN uses the company’s Ecolibrium bio-circular technology to reduce reliance on fossil-based feedstocks. Both are now certified by ISCC Plus on a mass balance basis.
“Achieving ISCC Plus certification marks another significant milestone for the Map Ta Phut PG facility,” said Heidi Xu, Asia Pacific commercial director of Dow Polyurethane. “This milestone strengthens our ability to support customers’ sustainability targets and, in collaboration with value chain partners, advances the circular economy while driving positive environmental impact across diverse industries.”
The Map Tha Phut facility was expanded in 2024, and the company said it is now the largest PG plant in Asia. “This world-class manufacturing facility, based in Thailand, is now in its best position to serve customers both locally and regionally,” said Vichan Tangkengsirisin, Dow Thailand president.
The company already offers sustainable PG grades in North America, Europe and Latin America.
