Herleen, the Netherlands - Royal DSM NV is to further expand its resins facility at Meppen in Germany, with a nearly Euro 15 million boost to construct a new plant to make wet polyesters and other speciality resins.
Late last year the DSM NeoResins+ business announced completion of new Euro 20-million facilities for polyurethane dispersions at Meppen.
The new line, to be built at the existing site in Meppen, will be completed in the first half of 2009 and will allow for further expansions in the future, said a 9 Jan announcement from DSM.
According to the resins group, wet polyesters "represent an important and promising product line." This expansion will further strengthen DSM NeoResins+ position in fast growing (more than 8 percent per annum) and strategically important markets such as can, coil and niches in the decorative segments, the company added.
