Helsinki -- ECHA, the European Chemicals Agency, has announced a new feature on its website: registration statistics for REACH, the European Union's legislation on Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation and Restriction of Chemicals.
From 1 June to 6 Oct, the data shows that 5042 registration dossiers had been registered, with 1449 of those for intermediates. The ECHA website gives details of week by week receipt of dossiers, together with the numbers processed, and shows the rapid rise in receipt of the dossiers as the deadline approaches.
The information also covers the country of origin of dossiers, with Germany organisations having submitted by far the largest number of any single country in the EU a,t 2472. The Netherlands (812), the UK (795)and France (723) are also high on the list.
