California, US – Algenesis has teamed up with biomaterial engineering startup Ecogenesis to create materials for 3D printing. The aim is to create eco-friendly materials for additive manufacturing based on Algenesis’ Soleic thermoplastic TPU, which was originally developed by scientists at the University of California San Diego.
Soleic, a biodegradable TPU derived from algae, will be integrated into the Ecogenesis portfolio of sustainable filaments. This, they said, will create 3D printing materials that are both high-performing and environmentally responsible, with durable and biodegradable options for prototyping, manufacturing and design applications.
“This partnership embodies our mission to empower businesses to create a healthier, safer planet,” said Algenesis chief business offiver Nick Sandland. “By combining our expertise in sustainable materials with Ecogenesis’ leadership in the 3D printing market, we’re enabling
customers to innovate without compromising the environment.”
