Paris -- EcoMobilier, the French company charged with recycling waste, has decided on
EcoMobilier picks four mattress recycling sites

four new sites to dismantle and recycle domestic mattresses following a consultation, it said in a newsletter.
The new plants should be operational in 2015, EcoMobilier added. The new plants are:
- Want 2E, associated with Veolia in Rennnes;
- Desire 2E Lorraine, Ecoval in Toul;
- de Recyc-Matelas Europe with Sita in Langon; and finally,
- Secondly in Tourcoing.
EcoMobilier said that the projects provide an entry point for the systematic cleaning of mattresses, mechanised dismantling and "favour a logical diversification of recycling outlets."
France generates about 4m used mattresses each year, which produces around 80,000 tonne/year landfill, said EcoMobilier, which added that over 90% of a mattress's components can be recycled.
"The mattresses will be dismantled to recover various materials (metal, foams, textiles) will be reinstated in a production cycle in sectors such as automotive, furniture or construction," said Fabian Cambon, technical director of Eco- furniture.
