The company is occupying 7,000 sq ft (650 m2), which includes the relocation of its operations from London’s Imperial College incubator, with additional laboratory and office space for growth. The company secured £5m (EUR 5.8 m) investment in July last year and won an EU Horizon 2020 SME award in late June 2016.
The Horizon 2020 award was to enable it to commercialise its catalyst technology including scaling-up production.
Rowena Sellens, Econic ceo said: her firm was 'very grateful to Horizon 2020 for this grant award. The Horizon 2020 grant process is extremely competitive and this award is another demonstration of the credibility and strength of Econic's catalyst technology and business opportunity.
'We have already begun to scope the process and product development scale-up project which will benefit hugely from this grant, both in terms of the pace and breadth of relevance to our customers,' she added.
