Garden Grove, California -- A range of new, renewably-sourced, proprietary polyurethane formulations from PU moulding and manufacturing company Elasco Inc., "significantly reduce the carbon footprint of manufactured products," a 16 June statement from parent company Deltron Inc. claims.
Elasco, which produces PU from soyabean oil, said it is finding growing markets for its green formulations.
Based in South California, Elasco claims soya-based polyol resins used in its polyurethanes reduce related carbon emissions from the manufacturing process by 36 percent.
Deltron ceo, Harry Larrucea, said his team has been developing and selling PU products containing soya-based polyols for around two years, "that have all the performance, versatility and durability of hydrocarbon-based polyurethane with significantly less environmental impact," Larrucea said. (RD)
