Zanoni (l) and Groh with award
The firm instituted the programme at its plant in Cinncinati to engage manufacturing employees more closely in safety-related activities such as job safety analysis, process hazard analysis, pre-start up safety reviews, coaching, and submitting safety reviews.
"The safety of our employees is extremely important to Emery. Our safety motto is: 'Our work is never so urgent or important that it cannot be done safely'," said Mike Groh, health, safety and environment manager at the firm.
The award was presented to Groh and site operations manager, Mark Zanoni, by the Ohio Chemistry Technology Council (CTC) on 1 May 2017.
