St Valentin, Austria – Engel and Cannon have entered a strategic partnership aimed at further developing technologies for polyurethane flooding.

The collaboration includes the commissioning at Engel’s technical centre in St Valentin of what is claimed to be the world’s largest injection moulding cell with a PU system for Clearmelt. This coats thermoplastic components with a durable PU surface directly in the machine after the injection moulding process.
At the centre, customers can conduct practical tests with various PU colour variants using the Engel duo 5500 combi M injection moulding machine, in tandem with Cannon metering and mixing technology. This is integrated into the Engel's CC300 machine control system.
The partners said they are promoting strong customer service and support via their global presence, offering the potential to integrate this technology into existing production processes.
