Novi, Michigan — ESCO used Foam Expo to launch its new VPX vertical CNC contour saw for flexible polyurethane foam.
Speaking at the event Rick Hungerford, ceo, said the machine is 36% smaller than the firm’s standard 6.8 m and is a 4.3 m wide. It is "a game changing offering for foam fabricators," he said.
The machine features a number of developments, compared to earlier models it has a more efficient Blade and head system which reduces footprint, it is manufactured from welded steel which is then stress relieved and CNC machined.
Esco added that it also contains a Siemens CNC controller which offers fast, smooth and efficient point to point cutting even with point-dense cutting paths. Hungerford explained, that the system looks ahead to the next point and this helps the blade to move smoothly from point to point, he said.
Standard features include an automatic upper guide assembly, air-conditioned main control panel and industrial handheld remote. Optional extras include blade sharpening systems and dust extraction, infeed and exit conveyor systems, and air-conditioned operator terminal and nesting layout display systems with automatic path generation, Esco added.
