Cleveland, Ohio -- Estane Engineered Polymers has expanded its Isoplast thermoplastic polyurethane portfolio to include flame-retardant grades as well as extrudable and co-extrudable grades at various hardnesses. Estane, which is a unit of Lubrizol Corp., said the new polymers are available in most regions of the world.
"These new rigid products in the portfolio will continue to expand Lubrizol's reach into new applications and new geographic areas," commented Mike Vaughn, vice president and general manager Lubrizol Engineered Polymers, in the announcement.
Isoplast TPUs are engineered rigid plastics with excellent chemical and impact resistance. They can be used in place of polycarbonate or in applications where stress cracking, colouring and / or tinting are difficult, according to the manufacturer.
Estane claims its engineered polymers offer low temperature flexibility, superior toughness and outstanding abrasion and wear resistance, in combination with chemical or hydrolysis resistance. Lubrizol makes the products at production facilities in Avon Lake, Ohio and LaPorte, Texas, USA, Oevel, Belgium and Songjiang, Shanghai.
