Cleveland, Ohio - Estane Engineered Polymers, a subsidiary of speciality chemical company Lubrizol Corp., has developed a new thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU) technology designed specifically for wire and cable jacketing in non-halogen flame retardant applications.
Estane X-1425 TPU places "greater emphasis on the development of new compounds that produce lower smoke and higher Limited Oxygen Index (LOI) to reduce flame spread," a 22 Oct Lubrizol statement said.
"Estane X-1425 TPU combines great flame properties, low smoke and low heat release, while maintaining good mechanical properties for extrusion," said Chris Boyher, extrusion marketing manager - Americas Estane., in the statement (RD)
