Brussels – Training to meet the EU's diisocyanates restriction is now available in English on a dedicated website. It can be found at www.safeusediisocyanates.eu.
ISOPA, the pan-European trade association for diisocyanate and polyols manufacturers, has worked with a number of sectors that process diisocyanates to produce the training.
Training will be available for a nominal fee per trainee. The platform contains a help centre, a tutorial, an introduction to trainer registration, materials for face-to-face training and virtual classroom training.
There are more than 50 training paths available on the website, including three videos on sensitisation, personal protective equipment and first aid.
The Reach restriction on diisocyanates applies to all companies that bring products containing diisocyanates to market. These companies must ensure that all industrial and professional users of diisocyanates must be trained in their safe use before 24 August 2023.
The website is scheduled to be available in German from 1 December 2021.
