Southfield, Michigan -- Lear Corp’s acquisition of Milwaukee-based compound creator and component manufacturer Everett Smith has been approved by the European Commission.
Auto seating and electrical distribution product supplier Lear bought Everett Smith, which supplies leather products including seat covers, instrument panels and door panels for various types of vehicles.
The Commission concluded that the proposed acquisition would not raise competition concerns, in particular because the companies' activities do not horizontally overlap.
