Kremsmuenster, Austria -- Eurofoam's development of cellpur comfort foam, with cellulose powder incorporated for high moisture absorption, has generated "worldwide interest in this unique material," says the company.

As a result, Eurofoam has decided to issue licences for making cellpur, finding a suitable business partner initially in Turkish foamer Safas, in Ankara in Turkey. After months of negotiation, Eurofoam has opted for an exclusive licencepartnership that allows Safas to produce and process cellpur for a widerange of applications such as bedding, upholstered furniture and shoes.

In the coming months, Austrian employees will be making a series of visits to the Ankara site in order to set up a modern production plant for the manufacture of cellpur, Eurofoam.

The Turkish foam manufacturer hopes to distinguish itself from its competitors and additionally offer its customers foam materials with premium functionality, said a Eurofoam press statement.

As a first step Safas will make standard cellpur, while in future it plans to develop foam qualities specifically for the Turkish market.

Safas has been producing polyurethane foam since 1976 and has wide market knowledge. Through making high-quality premium products it has succeeded in placing itself in the top price segment, said Eurofoam.

"In 2009, we set up a new production site in Ankara with a fully automated foaming plant and corresponding processing capacity. This enabled us to jump from a regional foam manufacturer to a top-of-the-range foamer for Turkey and the surrounding export markets," said Murat Özden, chairman of Safas.
