Bergamo, Italy – Eurogomma has supplied elastomeric polyurethane grids to a Russian diamond mine which have improved the plant's production by 20%.
Eurogomma PU elastomer screen helps diamond mine up output
The screens were supplied to process plant 16 of Nyubrisky GOK, part of the Alrosa diamond group.
Nyubrisky was already using polyurethane screens, but these became blocked with pointed stones. The blockages meant that the screens were much less efficient and that the output was contaminated.
Eurogomma tests showed its Getflexy panels could effectively separate out particles between 2 and 3 mm diameter. The company said that using its polyurethane screens 61% of the output was in this size range.
That compares with 16% for the competitive screen. The competitive screen allowed a much bigger proportion of over-sized particles though. These made up 83.7% of the output from the competitive screen and 0.45% of the Getflexy screen output.
Now its panels are installed at the plant, maintenance has been simplified. There is no need to clean the screening surface and free holes which became blocked with the old screens, Eurogomma said.
The comapny opened a Russian factory in 2016.
