Brussels — The European flexible foam industry continued to grow in 2015, according to Bart Ten Brink, president of EuroPUR at the company’s annual meeting here in early June.
EuroPUR 2016: Industry growth in 2015
Ten Brink said “production increased by 5.2% last year and the industry’s total turnover by 4.4%, according to research by Angela Austin of Labyrinth Research& Markets.
“There have been massive investments in raw material production in Western Europe which indicates that people are confident in the outlook in the industry in the coming years,” he added.
EuroPUR gained two new members, as UTECH-polyurethane reported previously, and is poised to grow further. It also agreed to open associate membership to service providers “who can truly contribute to the activities of our working groups,” Ten Brink added.
He continued that the associate members would have limited representation on the board and would only be able to nominate one person from each company to attend the annual meeting free of charge.
