Lisbon, Portugal – Seven more companies have become members of the European flexible foam trade group EuroPUR at the start of its 2019 annual conference, in Lisbon. These, plus five new associate members, were announced by the organisation's general manager, Michel Baumgartner.
EuroPUR announces seven new members at Lisbon conference

'Our members now produce foam in 24 countries,' Baumgartner told the conference. '[They] operate about 60% of the plants in the EEA, and produce around 70% of flexible foam by weight.'
The first new member, Portuguese company Eurospuma, has been in business for 54 years. The company has seven production lines, and employs 200 people. It is located just south of Porto, and has 3000+ clients in 24 countries. It makes a range of products including conventional, HR and viscofoams.
Egida, based in Tatarstan, Russia, was founded in 1992. It is headquartered in Kazan, and has a second factory in Kazakhstan. In total, 67% of its business is foam-based. The company operates with 13 warehouses across Russia and the CIS countries.
Tielt, Belgium is the home of Latexco, which was founded in 1955 and has 600 employees. The family-owned business has plants in Singapore, Indonesia, US, and Spain. Initially focused on rubber latex foam, it branched out into PU in the US in 2013. It started making polyurethane in Belgium in 2016.
There are three new members from Spain. Pagola Poliuretanos is based Zaragoza. Founded in 1990, it operates a plant that covers 44,000 m2. The company makes products for bedding, automotive, sponges and sound insulation products. It has also developed fast-recovering compressible foam that allows mattresses to regain their shape in less than 2 seconds.
Pikolin is also located in Zaragoza, and claims to be one of the largest bedding makers in Europe. It has eight European plants, and a further two in Asia. Founded in 1948, it employs 3000 people.
The third Spanish company, Torres Espic, is based in Valencia. It started out as a converter in 1973, and added foam production to the business in 1982.
The seventh full member introduced by Baumgartner was Ventius, which is based in Kosovo. The company was founded in 1989, and started making flexible foam in 1992. It employs 500 people, and has 41 stores in the Balkans.
Borsdochem, Hall Analytical, Cannon Cargill and IPF all became associate members.
