Shanghai, China -- Evonik has won unspecified damages and an apology from Shanghai Qiguang , a company that used Evonik's Tegostab trademark without permission.
The Shanghai Putuo Court recently found in Evonik's favour and ordered Shanghai Qiguang to print an apology in the China Chemical Industry News, according to Evonik
A translated copy of the statement supplied by Evonik reads:
"Shanghai Qiguang hereby certifies, our company and products have not any business relationship in the form of distribution, license, collaboration with Evonik and its affiliates. We sincerely apologize to Evonik for the bad impact and customers for the damages caused by the above acts of infringement. Meanwhile, Shanghai Qiguang undertakes to pay the equivalent to three times of the retail price of the infringing products as compensation if occur in the future."
"The basis for a lasting relationship between Evonik and its customers is transparency at all stakeholder levels. Therefore we encourage our customers to purchase only from official sales channels" said Tammo Boinowitz, senior vice president and general manager of the business line comfort & insulation at Evonik in a statement.
