Istanbul – Turkish PU systems producer Kimpur has announced plans to increase export sales this year, amid positive sales results posted for 2022.
For last year, Kimpur reported consolidated revenues of about TRY 4.89bn (€243.4m), a robust increase of 125% compared with 2021, the Turkish company said in a statement shared with Urethanes Technology International. The spike in annual sales, which totalled 105kT of PU systems, was accomplished owing to the firm’s higher domestic sales, which rose by 103% year-on-year to some TRY 3.3bn, but also increased export sales, which expanded by 189% to more than TRY 1.59bn last year.
At the same time, Kimpur’s earnings before interest, depreciation and taxes (EBITDA) for 2022 rose by 38% to TRY 759m, according to data from the manufacturer.
Commenting on the company’s 2022 results, Cavidan Karaca, chief executive of Kimpur, said the PU systems specialist exported its products to more than 50 countries last year.
Karaca said: “[In the] Gebze Organised Industrial Site (OSB), where we carried out our production activities, the company … was among the 100 companies with the highest export ratios. The company showed a strong performance in [terms of its] sales revenues and net profitability with sales of approximately 105kt in 2022. We also anticipate that it will further increase its exports in 2023 and continue its strong performance.”
The Istanbul-based PU systems producer supplies its products to a wide range of sectors. Kimpur’s portfolio includes products for the footwear industry, flexible foams, and rigid foams, among others.
“We have strengthened our position in the European market with our new production base with a capacity of 25kt in Latvia. We also plan to activate our new production facility in [Türkiye’s] Düzce with a capacity of 65kt in this year. We will increase our export and competitive power in every aspect with our new investments in Latvia and Düzce,” said Karaca.
