Paris - Automotive component maker Faurecia posted estimated 2012 sales of Euro 17.4 billion, up 7.3 percent year-on-year.
Estimated operating income for the seating and interiors supplier was Euro 514 million, 3 percent of total sales. Net income was Euro 140 million, which the company said takes into account Euro 84 million of restructuring charges in order to adapt production levels in Europe to meet lower sales.
Product sales, that is deliveries of parts and components to automakers, were Euro 13.3 billion, also up 7.3 percent year-on-year, which slightly outperformed light vehicle production, the company said.
Faurecia noted that its sales growth outpaced light vehicle production growth in North America, where the group's product sales rose by 41.3 percent to reach Euro 3.6 billion.
In Asia, the French group's product sales grew by 24.3 percent to Euro 1.4 billion.
As well as seating and interiors, the group's other two core areas of expertise lie in automotive exterior parts and emission control technology.
