Tolyatti, Russia – France-based car seat marker Faurucia has opened an integrated seat manufacturing plant with foam line in the Russian city of Tolyatti, which is on the River Volga near Samara.
'This new plant will become the anchor of our industrial presence in Russia, both in terms of production capacity and it is state-of-the-art technologies of CO2 emission reduction,' said Lukas Babuska, Faurecia’s Russia VP.
The factory will be modular, and include all elements of complete seat systems. This includes foams, seat covers and metal welding. The plant is located in a Special Economic Zone, and will employ 1000 people when it is fully operational.
Tolyatti is an automotive hub and is the home of AvtoVAZ, a Renault subsidiary that makes Lada-branded cars.
