Paris -- Auto supplier Faurecia SA has added another seating plant in the US, with a 180,000-square-foot facility in Madison, Mississippi.
The plant will produce seats for Nissan Motor Co. Ltd.'s Canton, Mississippi, assembly plant, which makes the Altima sedan, Armada sports utility vehicle, Titan pickup truck and the NV commercial van.
The site is also part of Faurecia's overall strategy to grow in the southeastern United States as key automakers expand into the region, said Rich Kolpasky, president of Faurecia Automotive Seating North America, in a 25 May news release.
The Paris-based company recently launched an interior and exterior parts plant in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, and an emissions control plant in Chattanooga, Tennessee.
Another seating plant will open soon in Cottondale, Alabama, to make seats for Daimler AG vehicles.
