Detroit, Illinois -- Faurecia Interior Systems will open a new manufacturing plant in Louisville, Kentucky, to produce vehicle interior components for upcoming models beginning in late 2011.
Faurecia expects to take over the plant in March and reach full production in 2013.
Faurecia Interior Systems is a unit of Faurecia SA, of Nanterre, France, which makes seats, cockpits, doors, acoustic packages, front ends and exhaust systems. It ranks No. 7 on the Automotive News list of the top 100 global suppliers, with parts sales to automakers totaling $13 000 million in 2009.
