Nanterre, France – Faurecia’s automotive seating sector saw sales €1.2bn in the third quarter of 2014, up 7.0% on the same period in 2013, according to the company’s interim management statement.
Sales in Asia rose by 18.5% and was up by 6.0%, the firm added. Sales into the US grew by 7.1%, compared with the 2013 period, Faurecia said. The business was driven by a 16% increase in product sales to with Nissan and an increase of 64% to Chrysler, as production of the Chrysler 200 grew.
Sales growth in North America is expected to accelerate in the fourth quarter and into 2015, buoyed by new contracts with GM, Nissan and Ford, along with the full-year effect of programs launched in the second half of 2014, Faurecia added.
Overall in the first nine months of 2014 sales in automotive seating were flat at €3.8bn, the company said.
