Tuzla, Turkey –Firefighters extinguished the blaze at a Huntsman systems house at 02:00 (local time) on Thursday 19 September.
The fire started the previous afternoon at the site in the Orhanh Leather Organized Industrial Zone.
Investigations into the cause of the fire are underway, said the company. Huntsman said preliminary indications are that it started 'in an outside oven used for heating IBCs and drums.'
The company is working with the local authorities to fully understand the cause of the blaze.
Injuries totalled three firefighters. No Huntsman staff or contractors were injured.
Huntsman did not give a timeline for the systems house to restart production. Customers are being supplied from stock by systems houses through Europe.
