Brussels - The newly formed Polyurea Development Association Europe (PDA Europe) is holding its first annual conference this week.
Representatives of leading polyurea companies will provide information on products and applications as well as the advantages of this versatile technology. As well as sessions on REACH and health and safety aspects, presenters will look at applications of polyurea coatings, including bridge deckings, as well as at aspects such as flame retardancy and application technology.
The two-day meeting organised by the trade association of the European polyurea industry takes place in Brussels from 14-16 Nov, starting on Wednesday afternoon with board and committee meetings.
A half-day educational course on polyurea coatings is also on offer on Thursday morning.
One of the presentations describes an innovative chain extender, Baxxodur PC 136, which producer BASF describes as offering "major advantages in processing polyurea systems." The new chain extender modifies the reactivity of the polyurea system to suit the particular application, giving a longer potlife, but also allowing film properties to develop much faster than with traditional chain extenders, BASF claims.
