Houston, Texas -- Flame Seal, a developer and producer of thermal barrier coatings (Flame Seal-TB) for polyurethane foam insulation, has signed a distribution agreement with Buckman to market its fire-protection technologies in the US, Canada and Mexico, under the global Buckman brand as the Flame Bloc product line.
The new product line will be formally introduced at the American Coatings Show in Charlotte, North Carolina, from 12-15 April 2010, Flame Seal said 7 April.
Flame Seal president Michael Kiser, who describes the deal as the "most significant development" in the company's history, said it covers all of North America for all fire-retardant coating and additives markets, with the exception of the spray polyurethane foam insulation market, which is assigned exclusively to SPI, and the leather fire-protection market.
"We also have a nondisclosure agreement with Buckman through which we hope to "co-develop" new technologies with Buckman's R&D departments," Kiser said. "This should have powerful synergistic effects as well in aerospace, and other high tech industries," he added.
Speciality chemical provider Buckman serves industries including the paper, water treatment, coatings, leather and speciality chemical formulator markets. Headquartered in Memphis, Tennessee, Buckman is present in over 90 countries globally with annual revenues of over $500 million. (RD)
