Houston, Texas - Under a partnership between thermal barrier developer Flame Seal Products Inc. and spray foam specialist Specialty Products Inc. (SPI), the latter recently signed a supply agreement with one of the three largest manufacturers of polyurethane foam for the spray-applied insulation industry, said an 8 Sept announcement from Flame Seal.T he first truckload of Flame Seal-TB (thermal barrier) using the company's proprietary material has been ordered for this manufacturer to distribute to its customers, the company added.
Flame Seal added that negotiations with other major foam makers are ongoing.
"The significance of this milestone achieved by our partner, SPI,cannot be overstated," said Kiser: "The major manufacturers in the PUFindustries are the key to high-volume sales, and, as previously noted, our new product will greatly increase the size of their PUF markets.Since everyone wins, this is an ideal business proposition, and we,along with SPI, now find ourselves at its core."
The company also said that Flame Seal's new marketing director, Craig Keyser, arranged fruitful meetings between president, Michael Kiser, and several clients in New Jersey and New York at the end of August 2008, following which a new distribution point has been established for sales in the area through Keyser's relationship with Joseph DiMezza, owner of JDM Specialty Chemicals. These discussions resulted in three agreements for Flame Seal's OEM programme, the company added.
Kiser said, "Every client we visited was certainly interested in Flame Seal's technologies, and wanted us to provide for them." DiMezza has already ordered a truckload (44 500 lb, 20 tonnes), added Kiser, in the statement.
Spray foam supplier SPI signed in March 2008 to distribute Flame Seal's new intumescent coating for rigid foam insulation, which the company says provides substantial cost savings to applicators and is applied in a simple process requiring little or no training.
