Gurugram, Haryana –Indian polyurethane foam producer FlexoFoam is now planning a foray into the European market.
The Gurugram based company has developed a new polyurethane foam, Fire Retardant Aupex Techline. Tests by Underwriters Laboratories show it complies with EN45545 HL3 standards. FlexoFoam said this means it meets European railway standards.
The company has recently invested in a high-pressure PU dosing machine with a capacity of 150kg/min. This is scheduled to be commissioned soon, and will be used to make fire-retardant PU foam. It has two foaming sites in Gurugram, with a combined capacity of 300,000m3 PU foam.
Pahuni Jain, FlexoFoam’s CEO, said: 'We are looking to expand the production facility and extend the supply of our world-class products to Europe. This is part of our plan to serve the public transportation market across the world. Fire retardant foams have wide applications in seating systems across all types of public transportation.'
FlexoFoam claims to be the biggest Tier 1 manufacturer, co-developer and supplier of seating systems, cushions & berths with accessories to all three rail coach building factories of the Indian Railways.
