By David Reed, UT EditorAlbuquerque, New Mexico--Lou Peters is to retire from his position as executive director of the Polyurethane Foam Association, which represents most of the US-based flexible foam makers, at the end of the year. He will be replaced by Bob Luedeka, who has held the post of assistant director for several years. The announcement was made during the 21 Oct general business meeting of the organisation, held in Albuquerque, which also inducted Peters into its Hall of Fame. Peters has built up the organisation over the last 18 years, during which he has run 37 general assemblies as well as 74 executive committee meetings and a host of other activities on behalf of the group.Tributes poured in, appropriately enough, from many of those who have worked with Peters over the years, including consultant Herman Stone, Hubert Creyf who brought congratulations from Europur, the European Association of Polyurethane Foam Blocks Manufacturers, Jim McIntyre, the PFA's legal counsel, Luedeka, and a long-time colleague and friend, Barry Zimmerman of the Pragmatica Corp consultancy.A more complete tribute to Peters will feature in the next issue of Urethanes Technology magazine."
