Elkhart, Indiana -- Century Foam Inc. of Elkhart has acquired Exemplary Foam Inc., also of Elkhart. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Century, a fabricator of polyurethane foam, will add Exemplary's water jet cutting capacity for polyethylene and cross-linked PE foam to manufacture parts for the recreational vehicle; marine; residential and office furniture; packaging and dunnage; medical; automotive; and novelty and promotional products markets, according to a 20 Jan news release.
"The addition of Exemplary Foam perfectly marries their capacity and capabilities with our own," Tom Teach, Century's owner, said in the release.
In addition to custom fabrication, Century is a distributor of Nomaco Inc.'s NomaPak profiles and pipe insulation products.
• Separately news reports (www.fox28.com) said that a fire broke out at the Century Foam facility in Elkhart around 12.00 noon Thursday 20 Jan.
Smoke could be seen for a distance, the reports said. No injuries were reported.
